Rivian Offers Its New $5,000 Satin Wrap For Free In April

  • Rivian has introduced a factory body protection wrap called Stealth by XPEL.
  • Made of a self-healing material, it protects paint and offers vehicles a satin finish.
  • Valued at $5,000, Rivian is offering the wrap for free on select configurations through the end of April.

Sometimes, the demands of both function and design align perfectly, benefiting everyone involved. Rivian’s latest product exemplifies this harmony. This week, the electric carmaker unveiled a new paint protection film that not only enhances vehicle durability but also enhances their appearance.

Dubbed the Stealth PPF wrap by XPEL, the film gives the Rivian R1T pickup and R1S SUV a sleek satin finish. Best of all, Rivian is offering the wrap for free on certain vehicle configurations through the end of the April.

From a functional point of view, the Stealth PPF wrap helps protect paint, by covering it with a UV-resistant coating prevents the dullness and discoloration that the sun can cause over time. To offer as much protection as possible, Rivian folds the material over any body panel edges that can be accessed without removal. Everywhere else, the film extends to within 1 mm of the edge of the panel.

The Stealth PPF material is also self-healing, so any fine scratches or swirl marks that appear on it will disappear once the wrap is exposed to heat. Unfortunately, the wrap is only available on select colors.

Although Rivian hasn’t provided a comprehensive list of the paint finishes that can be covered by the film, it has showcased it on Forest Green, Limestone, Midnight, and LA Silver. The Stealth PPF film is valued at $5,000 by the automaker.

The new protection film comes at a busy time for Rivian. Alongside unveiling the upcoming R3 and R2 SUVs, the company reached a production milestone with its 100,000th vehicle earlier this month. This achievement coincided with a planned factory shutdown aimed at enhancing production efficiency. Additionally, Rivian announced that it successfully met its production targets for the first month of the year.
