Buying a base model of a car and converting it to top model has become quite common in the Indian automotive scene. It has multiple benefits: a significant amount of money is saved, the finished product is made as per your preferences and you can add your own personalized touches to your car.
We have covered numerous examples of Mahindra Scorpio N base to top conversions and today is no different. We will cover two Mahindra Scorpio N converted into top models with their own unique touches. Both the cars are the base Z2 variant. One is finished in white while the other one is finished in black.
The YouTube video is uploaded by VIG Auto Accessories that has become a synonymous name with base to top conversions. We have covered multiple modification jobs from this workshop located in Navi Mumbai.
Let’s start with the details of the job done:
White Scorpio N Z2
The headlights are not changed in this car and kept the stock which is reflector-based halogen units. Other than that, OEM fog lights with DRLs, chrome upper lip, chrome accents on grille and front skid plate have been added.
As for the side profile, 17-inch Mahindra genuine alloy wheels have been added. The host mentions that there is no need to change the tyres when installing 17-inch alloys. ORVMs and door handles have been painted to body color. OEM roof rails are installed to give the SUV a robust look. Waistline chrome, C-chrome and silver accents on the body cladding are added to boost the visual appeal.
The changes to the rear profile are minimal, with the only changes being the rear spoiler and reverse parking camera. Stepping inside the car, the theme of the interior is changed to champagne gold and black instead of the usual tan and black.
Soft touch materials have been added in multiple places, including door pads, door armrests, leg pads and horn pads. The entire tan colour of the dashboard has been changed to champagne gold soft-touch leather. Seat covers follow the same theme.
The steering wheel has been replaced with a flat bottom one with gloss black inserts, which give the cabin a sporty vibe. Added amenities in the interior include steering-mounted controls, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs, speakers and damping.
Black Scorpio N Z2
Modifications done to this car are similar to that of white one which includes fog lights with DRLs, chrome upper lip, chrome accents on grille and front skid plate. A noticeable difference in both the cars is headlights. Top model’s projector based LED headlights with sequential turn indicators have been added. Another modification option, gloss black grille has not been installed on both the cars.
Changes in the side profile are similar to the white Scorpio N, with the only difference being the 18-inch Mahindra genuine alloy wheels instead of the 17-inchers. The rear profile mirrors the changes from the white Scorpio N.
The interior of this car is kept stock with the only changes being the amenities added in the other car. The theme is kept stock tan and black with no soft-touch materials.
In the end, it all comes down to personal preferences and taste. This video gives us an idea of what can be done.
