Finally, after months of waiting, we have a clear look at the design of the upcoming family electric scooter from Ather Energy. Recently, the Ather Rizta was spotted during a commercial shoot in Bangalore, Karnataka. The pictures show the rear end and right profile of this upcoming electric scooter from Ather. The Rizta will be taking on the TVS iQube electric scooter and will be targeted at family audiences. The scooter will be launched tomorrow.

These pictures of the Ather Rizta have been shared on Instagram by Pradeep on Wheels on their page. In the two pictures shared, we can see two different Ather Rizta electric scooters being used for a commercial shoot. The first one is finished in white.
Meanwhile, the other Rizta, which was seen carrying two people, one was seen with sophisticated camera gear and the other was riding the scooter. As stated, these pictures were most likely taken during the commercial shoot of the upcoming model.
Ather Rizta Design
From the pictures, we can note that the Rizta will boast a very familiar bulbous body. The company is trying to mimic the designs of the popular ICE scooters like Honda Activa and Suzuki Access, unlike the Ather 450 series which offers very sharp and sporty styling.
The Rizta has been designed to please an older audience who are looking for a family scooter. Ather, over the last few months, has also been boasting that the Rizta will get the largest seat of any scooter in the country.
Other design highlights include a modern-looking wraparound taillamp and a chunky rear handlebar. These particular models that were spotted were seen with cushions for the pillion. However, most likely they will be offered as accessories by the brand. Just underneath the LED taillight, we can also note Ather lettering finished in black.
The side profile of the scooter shows that it will continue with the rounded-off design and will get an integrated footrest for the pillion. Like the 450, there will be a strip of accent color on the side, and underneath it will be the Rizta badge.
We can also observe that the scooter will get a flat floor just like the 450 Series. Not much of the front can be seen from these spy shots. Most likely, it will continue the rounded-off design at the front as well.
Ather Rizta: Features
From the pictures, it can be noted that the scooter will get a similar LCD screen as the 450S. Additionally, the switchgear on the handlebar also appears to be shared with the 450 Series scooters. The scooter will also get a set of similar-looking lenses for the rearview mirrors. However, the stalk looks a lot simpler than the 450 Series scooters.
It will ride on the same 12-inch five-spoke alloy wheels as the 450S and 450X. However, unlike those peppier scooters, it will come with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake in the rear.
As for the suspension, the Rizta will get a telescopic suspension at the front. Meanwhile, at the rear, it will get a monoshock. Additionally, it has been reported that its chassis will be entirely new. It will not utilize the same lightweight aluminum chassis as the Ather 450 series scooters.
Ather Rizta: Powertrain and pricing
It has been reported that the company will be offering it with the same mid-drive motor. However, the peak power output will be lower than the 450 scooters. Currently, the company offers the 450 Series scooters with 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh packs.
As per the reports, the upcoming Rizta will get both battery options. In terms of pricing, most likely it will be priced lower to compete with the TVS iQube and other ICE scooters.
