Her daughter Kavya Maran is the CEO of the team and is regularly seen attending the team’s matches across the country. Recently, a video has been shared online which shows their entire car collection. These cars were seen in Chennai where “Jailer” movie producer Kalanithi Maran and her daughter reside.
The video of Sun Group and SRH owners’ car collection has been shared on YouTube by Crazy Cars Chennai. The cars from the Sun Group founder Kalanithi Maran’s collection vary from Rolls Royce to Bentley. So without any further delay, here is the list of all their super-expensive luxury cars.
Rolls Royce Phantom VIII EWB
The first and the most expensive car from the Maran family garage is a Rolls Royce. This particular model is the Phantom VIII EWB which costs a whopping Rs 12.2 crore in India. Most likely, it is used by Kalanithi Maran himself.
It is finished in a lovely shade of light gold with a black top half. It has also been optioned with 21-inch multispoke alloy wheels. The exact list of options chosen is currently unavailable. However, most likely it must have been optioned with a number of expensive features.
The Rolls Royce Phantom VIII EWB comes powered by a 6.75-liter V12 twin-turbocharged petrol engine. This massive motor produces a maximum of 571 Bhp and 900 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to an automatic transmission, and power is sent to the rear wheels.
Ferrari Roma
The next car from the Maran family garage spotted on the streets of Chennai was a Ferrari Roma. The family has chosen the beautiful and iconic Rosso Corsa shade for their Roma. It also gets silver alloy wheels with yellow brake calipers. The calipers match the Scuderia shields on the fenders.
The Ferrari Roma was launched back in 2021 in India with a price tag of Rs 4.5 crore. It comes equipped with a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It makes 690 PS and a peak torque of 760 Nm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Bentley Bentayga EWB
The third car spotted on the streets of Chennai from SRH team owners’ garage was the Bentley Bentayga EWB. It was seen finished in the stunning shade of Candy Red. It was also seen with turbine-style 22-inch alloy wheels.
The SUV is 180 mm longer than the regular Bentayga. It comes powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. The engine generates a maximum of 550 PS and 770 Nm of peak torque. As for the transmission, it comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. The price for the Extended Wheelbase version of Bentayga starts at Rs 6 crore, ex-showroom.
BMW i7
The last car on this list is the BMW i7 luxury electric sedan. This particular car was seen finished in the shade of Black Sapphire Metallic. Apart from this, the list of options chosen by the family is unknown.
This flagship electric sedan from BMW comes powered with a duo of electric motors, one per axle. Combined, these motors generate a jaw-dropping 544 horsepower and a remarkable 745 Nm of torque.
The i7 comes equipped with a massive 101.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, boasting a range of 591 to 625 km in the WLTP cycle. The i7 offers a top speed of 239 kmph. And it can do 0 to 100 kmph acceleration in under 4.7 seconds.
