  • This is the second facelift for the Chevrolet Trailblazer which has been around since 2012 with a first facelift in 2016.
  • The ladder-frame SUV adopts a completely redesigned face and an overhauled interior which are shared with the closely-related and recently updated Chevrolet S10 (Colorado) pickup.
  • It is powered by a slightly tweaked turbodiesel engine mated to a new eight-speed automatic and features improvements in the suspension and steering.

The second generation of the Chevrolet Trailblazer that was introduced in 2012 based on the Colorado midsize truck has been discontinued from most markets without a successor despite the facelift of 2016. However, the model remains on sale in Brazil, where Chevrolet introduced a series of upgrades for 2025. Note that the ladder-frame SUV is totally unrelated to the US-spec Trailblazer which is a small crossover.

Unsurprisingly, the Brazilian-spec Trailblazer adopts the visual, interior, and chassis upgrades recently introduced by the S10 (Colorado) pickup. The mechanically-related models share a completely redesigned face adopting Chevrolet’s modern styling language, bearing similarities to the much newer US-spec Colorado.

Setting aside the new front bumper, grille, headlights, and hood, the rest of the bodywork remains unchanged. The 12-year old design of the profile and the tail can’t hide its age but this is often the case with long-lasting models in South America. Another highlight of the upgrade is the addition of the new “High Country” flagship trim, bringing chrome accents and generous equipment.

As with the S10, the interior of the Trailblazer has been overhauled with a fresh design for the dashboard and the latest in-car technology. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster is combined with a larger 11-inch infotainment touchscreen, new switchgear, and a wireless charging pad bringing the Trailblazer in the 20’s. Furthermore, the new seats are upholstered in bi-tone leather in the High Country trim with special embroidery on the headrests.

Under the hood, the Trailblazer inherits the upgraded four-cylinder 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine of the S10, producing a slightly increased 204 hp (152 kW / 207 PS) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a new eight-speed automatic gearbox, contributing to improved performance and efficiency. As with the the S10 pickup, engineers improved the suspension and steering column of the Trailblazer for a more refined ride in combination with the new tires.

The 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer will be produced at the General Motors’ São José dos Campos facility in Brazil and is expected to reach local dealers in May. Pricing will be announced closer to the market launch. The new Spin crossover, the S10 pickup, and the Trailblazer SUV are three of the six new model launches planned by Chevrolet in Brazil within 2024.
