Maruti Suzuki India Limited has been testing its first-ever electric vehicle, the eVX, in India for quite some time now. Recently, its test mule was once again spotted on the streets. This time around, this test mule was parked beside a road and has revealed new details. Few of the highlights included a 360-degree camera, flat-bottom steering wheel, dashcam, and a few others.
Maruti Suzuki eVX spy video
The video of this test mule has been shared on YouTube by Manish Kaushik Shorts on their channel. It starts with the rear end of the eVX test mule. We can note that the entire tailgate has been covered with the use of cardboard and black paint. This has been done to hide the actual design of the tailgate.
The taillights have also been covered from all sides and do not reveal many details. However, what we can note is that there will be a sizeable rear spoiler on top. Additionally, a rear window wiper can be seen as well. The three-quarter shot of the rear looks bold and has good proportions.
Moving on to the side profile, we can observe a set of 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. However, these appear to be test wheels and the production model could get different and more premium-looking wheels.
One new detail revealed by this test video is that it will come with rear door handles placed in the C-pillar. There will be disc brakes on all four corners. The eVX will also come equipped with a 360-degree camera as the video shows cameras on the ORVMs.
It also shows a camera on the front of the vehicle as well. Moving on, the video then shows the front end of this SUV. It can be noted that this particular test mule was equipped with two projector lights on each end of the headlamp. No LED DRLs were seen on this test mule.
However, some reports have stated that the final production version could come equipped with LED DRLs. Additionally, a front camera was also noted in this test mule. Just underneath the front camera were openings for air to pass for the cooling of the battery and motor.
It can be seen that almost all of the body panels have been covered with cardboard. Another new detail revealed by this test mule is that it will come with the charging port on the front left quarter panel. Additionally, a dashcam has also been seen on the front windshield underneath the rearview mirror.
Maruti Suzuki eVX – Interior details
So far, this spy video has shown the most clear view of the interior of this SUV. It can be noted that much of the dashboard was covered. But it can be noted that there will a very premium-looking center console with a rotary dial in the middle.
Additionally, there will be a flat-bottom steering wheel as well, which also looks too flat on the top as well. The buttons on this steering wheel also look very premium with a piano black finish.
Apart from this, we can note very supportive front seats with thick side bolsters. There is also a center armrest between the two front seats. The video also shows the air conditioning vents and a big touchscreen infotainment system in the middle as well. The rear seats also look large enough.
Maruti Suzuki eVX – Powertrain details
As per the reports, Maruti Suzuki will be offering the eVX with two battery pack options. These options will be 45 kWh and 60 kWh. Additionally, the eVX could also get single or dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations as well. Maruti Suzuki eVX launch delayed.
The 60 kWh configuration is expected to provide a claimed range of 550 km. In terms of pricing, the company could launch it in the sub-Rs 25 lakh segment. As for the launch, it will most likely be arriving towards the end of this year. Once launched, it will be competing with the likes of the Tata Harrier EV and Hyundai Creta EV.
