Scorpio N, the popular 7-seater SUV from the Indian brand Mahindra, is a popular choice among consumers. The SUV caters to a wider range of audience. The car can seat seven passengers, driven daily and taken some light off-road as well. This makes the SUV a well-balanced car. The popularity of Scorpio N can be noticed in the aftermarket modifications scene as well with a new example emerging every day. Usually, we cover modifications such as the base to top conversion, but today, we are going to cover something different: a Scorpio N with interior modifications.
The job is done and uploaded on YouTube by VIG auto accessories located in Navi Mumbai. The variant shown in the video is Z6. Not many changes have been done to the exterior as this job is more focused on the interior of the SUV.
The host starts with the exterior changes. Additions done to the front fascia of the car are top model LED headlights with dual projectors and sequential turn indicators, along with OEM LED fog lights. Cosmetic changes include replacement of the black plastic grille with chrome accents to glossy black grille with chrome accents and upper chrome lip.
18-inch Mahindra genuine alloy wheels are added to the side profile that gives the vehicle a modern and macho look. Chrome garnishes on door handles, lower window, C-chrome and above body cladding are installed along with rain visors on all four windows.
The interior of the car is where the most striking change lies. Originally, the interior theme of Mahindra Scorpio N was black with tan. The tan colour in the interior has now been changed to cranberry red with white stitching. All four doors are leather wrapped with soft touch materials.
Please note that this is not paint and entire work is done with leather. The host then highlights the seat covers of the car, which are finished with the same theme. The entire tan color of the dashboard is replaced with cranberry red leather.
This not only gives the carry a unique look but also adds a sense of premium-ness and luxury due to the soft touch materials. Another, major change is the steering wheel which has been changed to flat bottom one with gloss black accents. The horn pad is also wrapped in cranberry red with white stitching.
The Mahindra Scorpio N offers two engine options: a 2.0L turbo-petrol and a 2.2L turbo-diesel. The petrol engine delivers 203 HP and 370 Nm of torque (or 380Nm with automatic transmission), while the diesel comes in two tunes – a 132 HP/300 Nm option in the lower variants and a more powerful 175 HP version with either 370Nm (manual) or 400Nm (automatic).
Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The option of automatic is not available with the less powerful diesel engine. The Scorpio N offers numerous safety features including a 5-star GNCAP rating, 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, TPMS, Hill Hold Control, driver drowsiness detection etc. In the Indian market, Scorpio N rivals Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, XUV 700 and Hyundai Alcazar.
