Skoda has recently updated the mid-spec variant of their popular compact SUV, the Kushaq. The 2024 Ambition variant comes with some additional features and price revisions. With the help of a YouTube video uploaded by Yash9W, let’s understand what changes have been made. The video shows a red-coloured Skoda Kushaq, which is the Ambition variant powered by the 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine.
The YouTuber starts with the front look of the car. At the front, the SUV comes equipped with LED headlights with DRLs. Notably, the Kushaq does not come with an all-LED setup, as the indicators and fog lights are halogen, even in the higher variant. A big gloss black grille surrounded by a chrome element can be seen. Additionally, it comes with a gunmetal grey skid plate.
Coming to the side, the SUV comes with silver-coloured 16-inch alloy wheels. A black-coloured body cladding can be seen around the car to give it that macho look. This variant offers a shark fin antenna, roof rails, and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. Features such as push-button start, request sensors on the door, chrome door handles, panoramic sunroof, and waistline chrome are seen only in the top-end variant.
At the rear, the Kushaq comes equipped with LED taillights with halogen indicators and a reverse light. Other features include a rear wiper with washer and defogger. Additionally, it offers three reverse parking sensors along with a camera, which helps with easy maneuverability.
Even the mid-spec variant of Kushaq comes loaded with features. The interior of the car is finished in beige and black. It offers features such as auto AC, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with steering-mounted controls, an 8-inch infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an analog instrument cluster with a small black-and-white display, a cooled glove box, and multiple charging sockets.
Skoda offers the Kushaq with two engine options: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol three-cylinder engine and a much more powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder engine. The 1.0-litre engine produces 115 Bhp of peak power and 178 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options with this engine include a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre engine delivers 150 hp and a massive 250 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG.
In terms of safety, the Kushaq has been rated five stars in the GNCAP crash test. It comes with a host of safety features, such as six airbags (two as standard), an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill hold control, and a three-point seat belt for all five passengers.
The pricing for the Skoda Kushaq starts at Rs. 11.89 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 20.49 lakhs ex-showroom. The ex-showroom pricing for the Ambition variant is as follows –
The 1.0-litre engine with manual transmission is priced at Rs. 14.19 lakhs and the automatic is priced at Rs. 15.49 lakhs.
The 1.5-litre engine paired with an MT costs Rs. 15.99 lakhs,, while the automatic DSG variant costs Rs. 17.39 lakhs. The Skoda Kushaq rivals other SUVs at a similar price point, such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 300, and Volkswagen Taigun.
