Buying a base variant of a car can save you a significant amount of money. With base to top conversion kits being available for nearly all the cars, getting a base model and modifying it seems a more sensible option. We have talked about multiple such projects in the past, including cars such as Brezza and Creta. Base to top conversions not only save money but also give you the option to add personalized touches to your vehicle. Today, we will cover a black colored base variant Creta which has been converted to top-end trim.
VIG Auto Accessories carried out the project and uploaded it on YouTube. They have titled this modification job “India’s finest Creton.” We have covered multiple Creta modifications done by them, and today is no different. The car shown here is the base E variant of the recently launched Creta facelift. Let’s dive into the details.
Exterior
The front grille has been replaced by the top model’s parametric black chrome grille. A centre DRL has been added, giving the SUV a premium vibe on the front. Halogen projector headlights have been upgraded to LED units for better night drivability.
Hyundai offers 16-inch steel rims in the E variant of Creta. The host replaced the steel rims with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, significantly improving the SUV’s visual appeal. Manual ORVMs have been upgraded to electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
Fender-mounted indicators are omitted, and the hole is covered with Hyundai genuine adventure vents, which match the parametric black chrome grille. The C-pillar panel has been changed to gloss black to increase the car’s aesthetics. Another small addition is the gunmetal grey skid plates. Coming to the rear, an ABS sports spoiler has been added, and the taillights have been replaced with the top model’s lights.
Interior
The overall theme of the cabin is kept the same ice grey with dark grey and copper accents. A notable addition to the cabin is shadow ambient lighting, which comes with silver panels that match the silver door handles. All four doors have been leather-wrapped, adding to the premium-ness.
The steering wheel is wrapped in the same theme as the interior, along with steering-mounted controls and cruise control. The base variant does not come with any music system. The host has added a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality.
The modification job done on this Creta improves its functionality and looks. If you buy the base E variant, getting some essential modifications done is always suggested. The project shown in the video adds all the necessary functions, such as steering mounted controls, electric ORVMs and infotainment system to the car.
Also, it includes some visual upgrades such as alloy wheels, grille and DRLs. It is important to note that features such as a panoramic sunroof cannot be added aftermarket, and you should go for the top model if that is your need. However, always take your car to a trusted workshop for the best results. It is not mentioned in the video if these modifications will void the warranty or not.
